Kirin at 5 Months

Kirin is 5 months old!

Maybe the day after his vaccinations wasn't the best day for a brother photo shoot? 

  

Non-mobility was good while it lasted

Home for the Holidays

We spent Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years on the west coast for the first time this year.  We missed seeing our families but we enjoyed celebrating with our bay area friends.

On Thanksgiving, we had a potluck dinner.  Several dishes had persimmons in them thanks to our and our friends' bountiful trees!

 On Christmas Day, Santa made his debut visit to our home in Menlo Park

Santa had some cookies that Milan made and left him a note! 
Milan was pleased with his bounty

 In the evening, Kirin and his buddy Aadi coordinated their outfits

"You wear green and I'll wear red, OK?"

We made some ornaments and had another great dinner

We brought in the New Year with some cheese and chocolate fondue!

Kirin at 4 Months

Kirin is 4 months old!

He now rotates 180 degrees in his play gym

Who, me?

Not a fan of loud noises, like the fire engine sirens that passed by while on a walk

(also liable to freak out when someone sneezes or laughs loudly)

Godas Go To Hawaii

We went on our first vacation as a 4-person family to Hawaii on the island of Oahu!  

We had some good family bonding time in our rental condo. 

We discovered the magic word that makes Kirin laugh:

Then Milan took over Kirin's play gym 

But Kirin found a way to fight back by taking hold of Milan's head when he was being used as a pillow

We also found lots to enjoy around the island.

We hiked up to the top of Diamond Head crater. 
Milan went up the whole way himself (including 300 steps at the end) but Kirin didn't really pull his own weight.

We rode the Pineapple Express on the Dole plantation

We had some delicious shaved ice,


went for some scenic walks

and spent some nice time in the ocean waves.

Hawaii, we miss you! 

Kirin at 3 Months

Here we are at 3 months, getting bigger and bigger

We said good-bye to loving grandparents, C. nani and B. nana, who returned to their home in Maryland after spending 3 months with us

We will miss you!

Milan and Kirin's Halloween Festivities

We started off the Halloween season with a trip to the pumpkin patch

Despite having a train conductor costume, Milan spent his first Halloween event as a box

 He then donned his train conductor costume for his parade at school

and joined his little brother at a parade in Menlo Park

Kirin wore his costume for all of 5 minutes (and loyal readers will recognize the costume from a few years ago) but it's the thought that counts, right?

Kirin at 2 Months

We had a month of lots of smiles!
